More About the Speakers

CHRIS CLEMES

Co-Founder

CEO

MORE ABOUT CHRIS

Chris is passionate about revolutionising the way wastewater is managed. Wastewater from commercial kitchens or food processing plants is packed with valuable resources, that can be recycled to create renewable and sustainable energy.

Chris established Eco Clarity in 2013, after witnessing the inefficient approaches to wastewater disposal when working in public and private water utility sectors. He set out to develop a circular economy wastewater disposal service that would be efficient, cost-effective and could support businesses in meeting net zero emissions targets. Working closely with biodiesel companies and water utilities, a ground-breaking separation technology has been developed, that can extract valuable resources for renewable energy and fertilisers from fats, oils and grease (FOG) in wastewater. A network of FOG Recovery Hubs processes FOG wastewater safely, diverting it from sewer and drainage networks where it can build-up and create expensive blockages and bursts, that are damaging to the environment.

Chris has exciting ambitions to develop this technology further, making it available at a smaller scale to individual FOG producers, and potentially using it to generate large volumes of potable water.

LAURA SU

Business Development Manager

MORE ABOUT LAURA

Laura is passionate about developing successful circular economy businesses that are beneficial both to stakeholders and the environment. Her background in the UK water and wastewater industry means she has broad knowledge on the impact of problematic fats, oils and grease (FOG) to both sewer networks and the environment.

Eco Clarity’s FOG Recovery Hub service provides the perfect solution to commercial kitchen FOG, by recycling it into renewable and sustainable energy. Laura has been key to identifying multiple stakeholders and building robust industry partnerships, both of which are crucial in developing an effective circular economy service.

As a marketing leader and business strategist, she is able to craft impactful campaigns that quickly communicate the substantial benefits to all businesses. She is highly skilled in strategy development, partnership alignment and customer relationship management. Her previous experience launching and driving the European FOG Summit, also gave her a unique perspective on the motivations of key stakeholders right across the sector, which has been instrumental in sector progress to date.

BOGDON BUJOR

Site Operations Manager – Hull

MORE ABOUT BOGDON

Bogdan oversees the operations of our FOG Recovery Hubs in the UK. Wastewater from commercial kitchens, which contains fats, oils and grease (FOG), is converted into resources for renewable energy and fertilisers, along with clean water that can be safely discharged or reused. Bogdan is passionate about delivering a high-quality service to clients and stakeholders, and contributing to the environmental sustainability and circular economy goals of Eco Clarity. He is responsible for training new staff to ensure a high level of service and a safe working environment for everyone.

Bogdan also oversees maintenance on the FOG Recovery Hubs to maintain efficient operations and minimise plant downtime. He works closely with liquid waste handling companies to book loads into specific sites for disposal. He also arranges transfer of renewable energy resources to Argent for conversion into biodiesel. Bodgan has a degree in economics from Anghel Rugina Economic College in Romania, and over seven years’ experience working in waste recycling.
