Providing a reliable and sustainable source of biofuel resources

Biodiesel is clean, renewable energy

An average car run by diesel fossil fuel emits 2.7kg/l of carbon dioxide. Biodiesel represents an 87% saving on greenhouse gas emissions over fossil fuels. This means 2.34kg of CO2 is saved per litre of biodiesel burnt.

How does our FOG Recovery Hub service work?

EcoClarity have spent a decade developing a separation technology that takes fats, oils and grease (FOG) wastewater from commercial kitchens and produces valuable resources for biofuels. Our ground-breaking technology has been combined with an innovative service that allows us to treat FOG wastewater in real-time using only one-fifth of the energy that anaerobic digesters require. It also has a sophisticated monitoring system which enables us to ensure we are delivering premium-quality biofuel resources. As the demand for energy is set to increase with population growth, we are offering a reliable and sustainable source of biofuels that will not run out.

Benefits of biofuels to the environment

Using waste and residue as raw materials for biofuels answers the needs of a circular economy. It diverts waste from landfill, where it would emit methane, and instead converts it into a useful energy resource. Diverting waste away from landfill sites also helps prevent toxic liquids draining into underground water sources, or foul odours being created by the breakdown of waste. When seeking an alternative to fossil fuels, to help mitigate climate change, biofuels offer a clean and efficient way to reduce carbon emissions. They can also help safeguard energy security by reducing the world’s reliance on fossil energy sources.

Benefits of biogas

Biogas is a renewable, clean energy source and offers a unique set of advantages. Biogas can be used for a range of purposes, including electricity generation, heating, cooking, and as a vehicle fuel. It offers versatility and can be adapted to meet diverse energy needs. Biogas production uses organic waste materials that might otherwise go unused or become a source of pollution.

Benefits of biodiesel

Biodiesel is a clean-burning renewable fuel substitute for petroleum diesel. It can be used to power vehicles and releases significantly less carbon into the atmosphere when burned. Biodiesel causes far less damage than petroleum diesel if spilled or released into the environment. It is also safer than petroleum diesel because it is less combustible. The flashpoint for biodiesel is higher than 130°C, compared with about 52°C for petroleum diesel. When burned, biodiesel releases 87% less carbon into the atmosphere than fossil fuels.

Reducing the amount of waste and making the most of our valuable natural resources is crucial for our future survival. Using FOG to generate biofuels increases energy security, improves air quality and protects the environment.
